The Ban de Vagney, with 250km of footpaths market by the Club Vosgien, gives the possibility of hikes or family strolls.
The Tourist office sells :
- a variety of maps detailing all the marked paths
- a plan ("topoguides") suggesting 16 round routes from 35mn to 5h (difference in altitude from 150m to 550m)
And for the children who want to take their parents to see if wolves
are out there... don't miss the walk around the Tête de la Neuve
Roche at Le Haut du Tôt : a nice walk of hardly one hour in
the midst of the forest. It is all about discovering the "Wolf's
Bedroom" and other curiosities. If you're lucky, you might even meet
Little Red Riding Hood!
For a several days outing, hikers and riders may contact halts (see above) :
- Farm "Les Plateaux" (Gerbamont) - 8/10 pers - tél : 03.29.61.73.18
- Transhumances (near Rochesson) - 12 pers - tél : 03.29.25.56.60
To walk and learn, you can choose to go with a guide who will be happy
to share their knowledge about the flora and the fauna, the history and
the geography. Themed outings are organised and the Tourist office will give you useful information about :
- the hidden sides of Chèvre Roche
- the walk "Vosges in the olden days" at the Pechimont farm where you can experience life in last century
- finding the cross monuments at Le Haut du Tôt
And, when paths have got ears... the donkeys of
Blancfaing are great travelling companions for family walks
starting from Le Haut du Tôt.
Also with a guide, nordic walking is an other way to keep one's physical shape.
